Cardiff is reported to have the largest concentration of castles out of any city in the world. It is home to popular tourist attraction Cardiff Castle in the heart of the busy city centre, as well as Castle Coch and two further ‘Motte and Bailey’ castles in Radyr and Rhiwbina which, along with another castle at Whitchurh, hold huge historical significance.
Alongside its impressive castles, Cardiff is also home to the Principality Stadium and Wales Millenium Centre, the Welsh National Museum and the Senedd building (home of the Welsh Parliament).
Sport plays a huge role in the community, and Cardiff plays host to many high-profile sporting events leading it to be crowned European Capital of Sport in 2014. Sport isn’t Cardiff’s only popular export however, with a number of well-known bands and musicians deriving from the Welsh capital too, such as Charlotte Church, Shirley Basey and Shakin’ Stevens.
